Chronic health conditions. I'd refer it as Destructive diseases. Diseases which last longer than 3 months, a year or longer and get worse over time and sometimes cannot be cured completely. But, many of such conditions can be improved through diet, exercise and healthy living along with (less) medication and (more of following) natural lifestyle.
First we need to understand what really causes Destructive diseases. Because then only we could understand how we will be able to deal with these. No one has illness or diseases as soon as they are born. It is a condition which develops in human body slowly due to many reasons. We need to understand step by step.
Diseases- according to ayurveda, the accumulation of toxins in our body is the first cause of any disease. Which means accumulation of waste inside our body. This waste is given many names such as, Stone, Joint pain, Obesity, High blood pressure, Diabetes, Heart disease, Cancer. Disease is a build up of foreign matter, waste and toxins in our body. So the core reason for all diseases is toxins (waste) in our body. So the treatment would be removing these toxins from our body. Let's understand it in more detail.
First come Acute diseases, such as cold, runny nose, vomiting, diarrehea, fever, acne and pain. Acute diseases take place in our body to clean and purify the body. Anyone can get acute diseases from children, old people and even animals. Because, it's a natural purification process. But people always tend to suppress acute diseases with medication.
Then come Chronic diseases. When acute diseases are suppressed all the time they arrived in the body, acute diseases take their second stage which is chronic diseases such as High blood pressure, Sugar, Joint pain, Asthma, Thyroid, Obesity, Skin or Digestive diseases.
Lastly come Destructive diseases. When chronic diseases are suppressed again with medication as time flies, they take their third stage which is Destructive diseases such as Heart attack, Kidney failure, Stroke, Paralysis, Cancer.
If we do not suppress Acute diseases at first place, they will not later convert into any such serious health issues which cannot be cured completely. So letting toxins and waste out of our body is very much necessary. To prevent further conditions.
Most of the time these toxins aren't any foreign material (bacteria or viruses) entering in our body but, which is already present in our body in the form of stress, anxiety, tension, depression, fatigue and any other mental health conditions which we avoid due to various reasons. In my opinion and as I have experienced the real cause or any health issue is our mind conditions. Because such conditions later get manifested as physical conditions one by one.
But such health conditions can be reversed with serious self efforts by following Natural and Spiritual lifestyle.
Following things can help:
1.Eat only when you are hungry.
एक बार खाएं,योगी,दो बार भोगी, तीन बार खाएं रोगी,
फिट वह जिविआ जित खाय वधाय पेट
( Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji pg. 790)
Meaning- The one who eats once is yogi, The one who eats twice is a hedonist, The one who eats thrice is diseased, Living a life in which a person's stomach comes out from eating too much is damaged. Eat only when you feel true hunger. Eating without feeling hungry is equal to welcoming diseases. Your medicine is your food.
2.Eat right kind of food. Avoid violence( no non-vegetarian food, no smoke, no alcohol).
Your food should have the following qualities:
-Wholesome ness (eat flour with bran, avoid bread, white sugar and processed foods).
-Freshness (eat fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables, eat light and fresh).
-Alkalinity (should eat alkaline food which is 70% alkaline and 30% acidic).
-Frugality (our food should be low in quantity).
Avoid over eating. ( we should understand when, what and how much to eat, there must be some space left in our stomach to process digestion).
4. Avoid eating in restless conditions. (eating in anger, fear, anxiety, hurry).
5. Practice yoga asanas. Yoga has potential utility as a complementary and alternative therapy for chronic diseases and can help older adults to maintain their health.
Yoga offers many benefits for individuals with chronic disease. Yoga supports mental and physical endurance for individuals at any age and physical ability level.
As part of an overall healthy lifestyle, yoga may help:
-Reduce pain.
-Lower anxiety.
-Lower blood pressure.
-Increase lung capacity.
-Improve respiratory function and heart rate.
-Boost circulation and muscle tone and stiffness.

6. Practice meditation twice a day. It can be beneficial for you in following ways:

-Meditation can also improve physical health by reducing strain on the heart.
-It decreases your blood pressure.
-Controls pain. Improves sleep as well as blood circulation.
-Settles your overthinking and improves through process.
-Reduces negative emotions.
-Increases self- awareness.
-Lengthens attention spam.
-Helps fight addiction and depression.
-It can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health.
-Meditation improves core physical and psychological assets, including energy, motivation, and strength.
-All together living a natural, stress free and healthy lifestyle can prevent you as well as help you to deal with any kinda chronic health conditions. Never suppress acute diseases in your body and your mental health issues. Even though one is suffering, the suffering can be reversed with a little change in lifestyle.
